Two More Days (NaNoWriMo)

So, my arm is still usable =) Yay! Maybe I broke the curse ;) Sure hope so, because, in two days, NaNoWriMo begins. And guess what I'm doing for NaNoWriMo? The story behind Cloud Shapes! =D

... Crap, this means I need to finish my outline and send it to my beta XD

So, since this is going to be super-crazy-writing-stories-tests-registration-papers-election-holiday-cleaning-stressful month, feel free to send me some encouragement ;) An email, IM, greeting on Skype, comment or review... ;] Don't feel obligated, though =)

To anyone else who is doing NaNoWriMo, good luck! If you want to let me know who you are, I will drop you encouraging messages (as long as I have time). Good luck!

...Huh, didn't post this at a super late/early time. How unusual.

Doomed: In Which I Explain My Possible Demise, or, Why The Author Is Screwed

So, I'm back to writing... at least for now. And I now have a beta =D ... For now. For as long as possible, I'm going to be putting up new material and hopefully expanding already established stories. However, if I disappear with no explanation, assume that I have hurt my arm/wrist and can't type. How do I know this, you ask? Let's review the evidence.

I wrote more bits to the story behind Cloud Shapes, and one of them had Danny hurt his knee. "As he saw his knee, he bit his lip. It was red and swollen. He wasn’t sure if he would be able to bend it." The bit was followed by what is now the second chapter of Cloud Shapes. Three days after I posted it, I bashed my leg so hard, I thought I had broken it, just below the knee. I had issues walking and I still have a numb spot on my leg from it.

Then, today, I was rereading a part, "He yelped as he was slammed back into the wall...  Now Danny felt something – it felt like a rib – crack." On Monday, during stage combat, my partner incorrectly performed a move and ended up really throwing me into a wall. My ribs are now bruised.

Now, you are wondering what I think is going to happen next? Something with my arm/wrist. Why? Three sentences after the cracked rib: "With a single twist, Danny’s forearm snapped." ... Well, crap. Danny is getting me back for being cruel to him. I will watch my arms very carefully for sprains and twists now. Hopefully, though, nothing will happen, and I'll be able to continue writing.

Knock on wood.

Another Project

I really need to stop doing this. In my defense, I've had this idea for a long time. Perhaps as long as Cloud Shapes... Anyway, the point of this is that I have begun writing yet another fic. Cloud Shapes will come first in my priorities, but this may or may not come second. It is a fic for a manga called Skip Beat.

The story will explore the possibility of Kyoko (with all her demons unleashed) never leaving Sho. It is so fun to write so far~! I'm trying to keep it even slightly in line with the canon storyline, with a few giant differences. It might split off continuity, though... I don't really have this fic planned out XD It is so fun to write, though! The dynamic between Sho and Kyoko is volatile and strange. I love it!

Recently, I have gotten back into manga and anime, including Skip Beat, obviously, so you might be seeing a few one shots from me soon. Probably from my favorite, Fruits Basket! ^^ I love it! It is su~per specta~~~cular!!!!!!!!!!!!

... Shutting up now, before I sound like a total weirdo XD Exhaustion is a part of my vocabulary. Lately, I seem to be tired everytime I do one of these...

First Chapter

I have officially finished the first chapter. It is 2,255 I lied, it is 2,172 words long. I'm not sure whether that is a good amount or not. It's longer than Cloud Shapes is currently. I'm still having issues with a title. I've considered Constellations, Shooting Stars, Stars, Cloud Spotting, even Cloud Shapes and giving my other story a different title. If you have any ideas or think one of these sounds good, feel free to comment (I have it set up so that I think anyone can).

...Yeah, that is about it. Since moving, a few plans have changed from the last outline, so it goes even deeper and darker than I thought. They have the best parties here. I know it sounds random, but that is how some of my outlines have changed XD Then again, maybe my old place had fantastic parties too, I just never got invited and am so much more well liked here... Eh, either way. I am pretty well liked here, so that's nice. Really nice.

So, I am going to stop writing and do more tomorrow today, when I am more coherent XD

Vlad's 'Why What I'm Doing Is A Good Thing' Speech

GRAUAUAUAGH!!! Just finished writing a scene between Danny and Vlad. AAAARGH!
Danny: Jerk.
Vlad: I have my reasons.
Danny: What?
Vlad: Because you're special.
Danny: Oh, okay. :)
Inky Iris: NOOOOOOOO!!!! GOSHDARNIT DANNY!!!!! NOOO!!!

Vlad is vile and manipulative and I felt so icky writing him. I kept shuddering and he made my toes curl and I cringed and... I felt so slimy writing his 440 word speech on why he was doing a good thing. I nearly cried when Danny agreed. Darn it, Danny, listen to me -- wait. You are. I made you agree... GOSHDARNIT DANNY! DON'T LISTEN TO ME! OR VLAD! ESPECIALLY ME THROUGH VLAD!! DON'T DO IT!

In other words? I don't think Vlad's reasoning justifies him. And I still feel slimy after writing that.

Writing Again!

I am all settled (well, not quite, but enough XD  ) in my new apartment, and yes, I am writing again! I hope to be doing it a lot. I don't know how much free time I'm going to have... So I'm keeping the release date for the DP/TT crossover in November for now. However, I still need a beta reader. I want to make sure my work is correct both gramatically and in characterization. I hate to do this, and I'm not saying I will for sure, but I might need to put the release on hold until I am confident that it is good enough. I'm not going to release something that might not be great to such an amazing fan base. I don't want to do that. If I did, it would be a last resort kind of thing -- like if no matter what, I can't make the story flow and I hate it - and will most likely not happen. I have other options if I don't find a beta reader I will do first, but if I can't make it work, I wouldn't want to put up rubbish. Please let me know if you or anyone you know wants to beta for me.

Like I said, I've been writing again, and I am focusing my energies on the crossover. I will get to my other stuff eventually, but that is the most popular story and I want it to be great. I will try my best to have most of it written by November 20th and put up the first chapter. I hope it will be well liked! =)

Contents

So, my writing will be impaired for, most likely, at least the next two weeks, as I am packing in preparation for moving. Once I've moved, I'm not sure how long it will take to get computer and internet set up, so... writing might be on hiatus for a bit.

That being so, I thought that I would talk a bit about the story Cloud Shapes comes from. If you can't tell, I don't have a title yet. I used to ('Checkmate'), but a lot of things got changed and the title just didn't fit anymore. Not to mention that I wasn't too sure of it in the first place...

I consider Cloud Shapes to be pretty lighthearted and upbeat. The rest of it will most likely not be. It is actually pretty depressing and... well, here is a list of a few of the things it deals with (contains spoilers): parental death, grief, denial, remarriage of a parent, bullying, peer pressure, violence, etc. There is more, of course, but I don't want to give away every little thing. Looking back on the list, it doesn't sound like it has too many things to warrant what I'm saying, but... it does. If that made any sense. XD My mind is a bit scrambled right now, which is why it's good I'm not currently posting story chapters. I'd get every thread tangled...
