Delays

Sorry! In Acting class, I hurt my finger (parents think dislocated, friends think jammed). It is crazy how much you use the middle finger of your right hand for. I can't straighten it or bend it all the way and it's stiff and bruised. It takes forever to type. It's a freakin' sausage! Luckily, it won't impact the story immediately, as I sent the next chapter(maybe two, depending on if I split it) to my beta already, knowing that next week is Finals Week. It will just take longer to write the chapter after that.

I'm considering posting excerpts of the chapters coming up on here, depending on the comments I get on here or the constant supply of reviews. I've gotten almost twenty reviews in the space of a week, so here you go:
The voice came from behind Danny, deep and ageless, and the teen spun around. Across the room, a ghost floated, old and hunched. He held a staff in one hand and had some sort of clock around his neck. Danny swallowed and eyed the ghost. Was this Clockwork? It would make sense. Who else could it be? Danny hadn’t heard anyone come in through the large door and, from the outside, it didn’t look like there was another way into the tower. The other ghost floated closer and Danny fought the urge to take a step back, sudden nervousness welling up inside him. What if Clockwork refused? The ghost passed Danny and Danny stood facing the opposite direction for a second, gathering up his determination, before facing the other ghost.
The other ghost that was no longer there. In the old ghost’s place hovered a tall, strong-looking ghost. It had the same hood, medallion, and staff, but stood straighter and unwrinkled. It stared apathetically at Danny, who was looking for words.
“Where– Who–?“ Danny started, but was cut off.
“Who am I?” This ghost had the same voice as the other one, steady and knowing. “I am Clockwork, the ghost of Time.”

I hope you liked it ;) This is an experiment, so if I don't get any feedback, I won't do it again. I have it so that anyone can comment =] Thanks for everyone's support!

First Chapter Up

The first chapter of the story 'Cloud Shapes' was drawn from has now been published! It is called 'Into The Dark' and here is the summary:
"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy." - Martin Luther King Jr. Who knew the course of a single bullet could change so much in the life of a fifteen year old?
It is 5,704 words. =)

NaNoWriMo Results

So, I didn't win NaNoWriMo, but at the same time, I didn't lose.

I did not get 50,000 words in the month of November.

I got 13,194 words so far, though, which is awesome for me =) That's a little less than two chapters, which doesn't sound like much, but it is! =D ... at least I think so XD I hope it's a lot. I'll get more and won't give up on the fic =D

As of midnight on November 30th:

Don't worry, I won't give up! Thanks to everyone who reviewed, alerted, favorited, or even just checked out Cloud Shapes or my other fics in November - you really kept up my morale =]
I didn't win NaNo, but I didn't lose, and I really hope you like the fic once it's out there. Have a great December, and a round of applause to all those who attempted NaNo, official winners or not.

NaNo and Delays

Nano has begun (Day 2, now)! Good luck to everyone doing it!

As you know, I am doing Cloud Shape's story for NaNo. You also probably know I broadcasted November 20th as the posting of the first chapter date. I realized the folly of this yesterday. Putting the date as November 20th is unfair to my beta and to my readers. I want to give you guys the best I can, and posting an unpolished chapter to an unpolished story doesn't seem right to me. I also don't think it would be fair to put that kind of time constraint on my beta. She is being kind enough to help me with this and I'm not going to inconvenience her by pushing her to do things when she has her own schedule. That being said, I will be posting ASAP... just maybe not in November. I apologize.

To NaNo participants, I'm Inky iris on there, if you are curious =] Good luck!

Two More Days (NaNoWriMo)

So, my arm is still usable =) Yay! Maybe I broke the curse ;) Sure hope so, because, in two days, NaNoWriMo begins. And guess what I'm doing for NaNoWriMo? The story behind Cloud Shapes! =D

... Crap, this means I need to finish my outline and send it to my beta XD

So, since this is going to be super-crazy-writing-stories-tests-registration-papers-election-holiday-cleaning-stressful month, feel free to send me some encouragement ;) An email, IM, greeting on Skype, comment or review... ;] Don't feel obligated, though =)

To anyone else who is doing NaNoWriMo, good luck! If you want to let me know who you are, I will drop you encouraging messages (as long as I have time). Good luck!

...Huh, didn't post this at a super late/early time. How unusual.

Doomed: In Which I Explain My Possible Demise, or, Why The Author Is Screwed

So, I'm back to writing... at least for now. And I now have a beta =D ... For now. For as long as possible, I'm going to be putting up new material and hopefully expanding already established stories. However, if I disappear with no explanation, assume that I have hurt my arm/wrist and can't type. How do I know this, you ask? Let's review the evidence.

I wrote more bits to the story behind Cloud Shapes, and one of them had Danny hurt his knee. "As he saw his knee, he bit his lip. It was red and swollen. He wasn’t sure if he would be able to bend it." The bit was followed by what is now the second chapter of Cloud Shapes. Three days after I posted it, I bashed my leg so hard, I thought I had broken it, just below the knee. I had issues walking and I still have a numb spot on my leg from it.

Then, today, I was rereading a part, "He yelped as he was slammed back into the wall...  Now Danny felt something – it felt like a rib – crack." On Monday, during stage combat, my partner incorrectly performed a move and ended up really throwing me into a wall. My ribs are now bruised.

Now, you are wondering what I think is going to happen next? Something with my arm/wrist. Why? Three sentences after the cracked rib: "With a single twist, Danny’s forearm snapped." ... Well, crap. Danny is getting me back for being cruel to him. I will watch my arms very carefully for sprains and twists now. Hopefully, though, nothing will happen, and I'll be able to continue writing.

Knock on wood.

Another Project

I really need to stop doing this. In my defense, I've had this idea for a long time. Perhaps as long as Cloud Shapes... Anyway, the point of this is that I have begun writing yet another fic. Cloud Shapes will come first in my priorities, but this may or may not come second. It is a fic for a manga called Skip Beat.

The story will explore the possibility of Kyoko (with all her demons unleashed) never leaving Sho. It is so fun to write so far~! I'm trying to keep it even slightly in line with the canon storyline, with a few giant differences. It might split off continuity, though... I don't really have this fic planned out XD It is so fun to write, though! The dynamic between Sho and Kyoko is volatile and strange. I love it!

Recently, I have gotten back into manga and anime, including Skip Beat, obviously, so you might be seeing a few one shots from me soon. Probably from my favorite, Fruits Basket! ^^ I love it! It is su~per specta~~~cular!!!!!!!!!!!!

... Shutting up now, before I sound like a total weirdo XD Exhaustion is a part of my vocabulary. Lately, I seem to be tired everytime I do one of these...
